Fees
Legal fees for Personal Injury cases
When you or someone you love has suffered a serious injury your life will become more difficult, and finances will likely be a problem.
We want you to focus on your health and recovery and not on our legal fees. The first consultation is always free and comes without obligation on your part.
If you hire us to handle your personal injury claim, we will not ask you for money to pay for our legal fees out of your pocket. We will not ask for money for disbursements either unless we have come to an agreement about that in writing.
We charge legal fees based on a contingency fee agreement signed between you and us. We will explain the details in a consultation, but the bottom line is that you do not pay any legal fees until we recover money for you from your case.
The fee is a percentage of the amount you recover. Depending on the case, the percentage may vary from 20% to 33 1/3% of your recovery.
The percentage will depend on the expected amount of work that needs to be done on your file, how complex the issues are, what the expected result might be, the financial and time risks associated with the case, and other important considerations.
Legal fees for Employment Law cases
The legal fees charged for employment-related claims will differ depending on the case. We will discuss this in detail with you before commencing any substantive work.
Some employment cases lend themselves to a contingency fee agreement that will be based on a percentage of the recovery you may obtain in a case. If the case is one that can be pursued on a contingency fee basis, the percentage charged will be between 20% to 33 1/3% of the money you recover.
Other cases we will charge you based on the hourly rates charged by each of the people working on your file at the firm. We will provide you with details of these hourly rates and how the fees are charged.
Regardless of the way we charge legal fees, we will always work with you to ensure that the fees charged are fair and reasonable and make every effort to ensure that you are aware of the costs as the matter moves forward. We are committed to an open, transparent, and fair fee structure that will fully explained to you and confirmed in writing.
